The judicial system approved the divorce between Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma on mutual consent terms that took effect on March 20. The divorce petition showed that Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal split only 18 months after saying their wedding vows. They did not explain the reason for their split to the public at that time. Recent reports indicate that the place where they should live together became the main disagreement between Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma when they were married.

The factors that led Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal to split up their wedlock became public knowledge.

Vickey Lalwani reports that Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal split their marriage apart due to residing in different locations. He claimed that soon after their wedding in 2020, the couple moved to the cricketer’s house in Haryana , where he lived with his parents. A few days after their wedding, Dhanashree expressed a desire for them to move to Mumbai, which was unacceptable to the leg spinner.

In his post, Vickey Lalwani wrote, “After tying the knot, Yuzi and Dhanashree had shifted to stay with Yuzi’s parents in Haryana and came to Mumbai only when they needed to. Yes, this Mumbai-Haryana jhagda was one of the main reasons why this much-in-the-paparazzi-world marriage ended. Yuzi was clear that he wouldn’t uproot himself from his parents’ home and surroundings.” However, neither the couple nor their advocates and family members have confirmed this report yet. According to their official statement Yuzvendra and Dhanashree choose to separate from each other by mutual agreement.

The divorce stipulations emerged during the separation of Dhanashree Verma-Yuzvendra Chahal.

The Bandra family court granted Yuzvendra and Dhanashree their divorce on March 20. The quick divorce proceedings occurred because Yuzvendra Chahal had to start IPL 2025 on March 22. The couple had asked and were granted a waiver on the mandatory six-month cooling period, which is given in cases for possible reconciliation. 

As per Bar and Bench, Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma finalised their divorce on mutual terms. The spinner is required to pay ₹4.75 crore as alimony to his ex-wife. Out of this, he has already paid ₹2.37 crores, and the rest will be settled following the completion of their divorce.
